An earthquake of 6.8 degrees of magnitude caused this saturday a small tsunami on the coast of 3 provinces on the north of Japan without registering remarkable demage.
The earthquake occurred at the 04:22h 140 km of the coast in Fukushima, and unleashed a tsunami that was defused two hours after alert. Once the tsunami alert was actived, were evacuated 9 municipalites of the provinees of Miyagi and I wate, affecting 26.000 people.
Japan is on the so called ''ring of fire'', one of the world is most active seismic areas, and freaquently suffers earthquakes so that buildings are designed to withstand tremors.
